And this is the winning entry (first prize) in our Taiko Cup! It’s a team from Nan Jeon Institute of Technology, department of Computer Science and Information. The project is called “Agriculture Denfender”, and is an automated car with a scarecrow mounted on top.

The car can be remote controlled and has an ultrasonic sensor which senses birds flying overhead and triggers a fan on top, as well as a siren to scare the birds away. The idea is that a traditional scarecrow does not really work anymore as birds have adopted to it and knows that it causes no threat.

This project showed good use of Tibbo programmable devices. The car is based on EM1206EV+GA1000. It controls all onboard sensors while acting as a data collector and transmitter between the car and the central server. This project shows innovation, pratical application and real-world usability. Great work, guys!
